Designed for modern players, the Horizon strikes a unique balance of warmth and clarity through a rare combination: Alnico V magnets enriched with Neodymium inserts.
The bridge pickup offers a tight, responsive feel with medium-high output. Its dynamic nature brings out the full character of each note, delivering a percussive attack and exceptional clarity — even under heavy gain. From tight, fast rhythm work to open, complex chords, everything cuts through the mix with definition.
The neck pickup has a lower output and a brighter, more focused voice. It shines in clean contexts, with a singing, open top end and a chime-like quality. Yet it still holds its own in high-gain lead tones, where articulation and note separation remain intact. Ideal for glassy clean passages and expressive, articulate leads.
Split-coil tones are crisp and twangy, ideal for glassy cleans and edge-of-breakup textures. Compared to traditional humbuckers, the Horizon set delivers a far more usable and character-rich split sound.
While the Alnico V core evokes the warmth and midrange presence of classic humbuckers, the added Neodymium enhances high-frequency response, opening up the tone and giving it a more three-dimensional feel. Both pickups feature a twin screw coil design and come with 4-conductor hook-up wire for maximum wiring versatility. They're wound with Heavy Formvar wire — a material often used in vintage single coils — chosen here to further emphasize clarity, string separation, and harmonic detail.
