SILK THREAD

The Silk Thread set was designed as a more refined and expressive take on the Strat voice, built around a slightly underwound recipe that enhances smoothness, and harmonic richness. It moves away from both strict vintage replicas and hotter modern interpretations, offering instead a nuanced character that feels uniquely responsive under the fingers. 

Tonally, Silk Thread leans toward a smooth and balanced response, with a gentle low end, open mids, and a sweet, rounded top end that still remains present. The dynamic feel is a central part of its voice — highly touch-sensitive, with a soft attack that naturally follows the player’s hands. 

Alnico II magnets contribute to this character by softening the response and shaping a warmer, more fluid tone, while the 42 AWG Heavy Formvar wire adds clarity and definition, helping each note retain articulation and richness.

The bridge pickup is slightly overwound compared to the neck and middle, improving balance across positions with a touch more output and added low-mid presence, while preserving the character of the set. 

The magnets are hand-beveled and feature flat pole pieces for a consistent and even response across the fretboard. Staggered pole pieces are available on request.

The middle pickup is RWRP, providing hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4 when combined with the neck or bridge pickups.
