Built around a hybrid magnet design — combining ceramic and neodymium elements — and tightly wound twin-screw coils, it balances crushing output with precision and dynamic responsiveness.
The bridge pickup delivers a focused, defined tone with strong upper mids and tight, controlled lows. The result is a sound that hits hard but stays clear, even with aggressive palm muting or extended chords. Highs are articulate without becoming abrasive, while the broad frequency range ensures that every note cuts through with detail. Its fast transient response keeps intricate riffs tight and impactful, maintaining clarity even in fast or complex passages.
The neck pickup is snappy and responsive, with a voice tailored for shred and high-speed articulation. It delivers excellent sustain and retains a dynamic, open feel that brings out the nuances in your playing. Despite its high output, it also produces impressively crisp and balanced cleans when needed.
Thanks to the ceramic–neodymium magnet pairing and carefully calibrated winding, the Maelstrom excels not only in full humbucking mode but also when split. Its split-coil tones are punchy and expressive, with a raw, percussive character reminiscent of a P90 — ideal for cleaning up your sound without losing bite or body.
