Rooted in tradition but subtly reimagined, the P4F set captures the essence of a classic "Patent Applied For" tone while offering a more balanced and distinctive voice. With softened highs and a lively midrange, it delivers warmth and clarity in equal measure.
The bridge pickup delivers the familiar open and woody character of a great PAF, with an uncompressed tone and a tasteful midrange push. The highs are gently rolled off, allowing chords and leads to remain full and sweet, even at high volumes. It responds beautifully to picking dynamics — always expressive, never dull.
The neck pickup is clear and balanced, offering warmth without muddiness. Its smooth response and articulate top end make it ideal for jazz comping, bluesy lead lines, or vintage-style cleans. There’s just enough bite to keep it present in a dense mix, while preserving that soft, classic bloom on each note.
Built with Alnico IV magnets and wound with Polysol AWG42 wire in a traditional screws-plus-slug coil configuration, the P4F retains the organic feel of a true vintage humbucker while subtly enhancing balance and versatility.
